new footage

The video camera is back in action... here are a few recent pics and a video. Milo helped me bake a cake for Dave's b-day. The pics are of Milo enjoying a beater of cream cheese frosting. The video I'm attempting to upload is Milo's version of "Old MacDonald". Video might not make it... it is taking too much time, and time is one of the things I'm running low on ;)

Fall fun

Milo had a costume carnival at The Little Gym. He sported his turtle costume, and looked pretty stinking cute! Mamma sported the faux fur kitty costume, and looked pretty silly. Milo loved it though, he thought I was funny :)

Some pictures from Grandmother Carol and Grandpa Jr's visit. Milo had a great time with his Grandparents. He was able to show his own turf! Milo took his Grandmother to the library, the Little Gym, and a couple of parks... all of his favorite things. Milo and Grandpa hung out and worked on the alphabet, played and played. The happy birthday banner was the tool, along with Grandpa's laptop. Milo still talks about the visit. He ended up with a very special yellow flashlight. When ever he gets a hold of it, he talks about "Papa JR". When he sees pictures from the visit, he is still very concerned over his Grandmother's scraped knee..."big boo-boo". He has quite a memory and sense of compassion!

New shoes, purple shoes

Milo and I had a trip to the mall today. We were on a mission for new shoes. Part of Milo's birthday gift from Grandmother Carol and Grandpa JR was funds for a new set of kicks. The timing couldn't have been any better! I do believe the little man has hit a growth spurt, at least his feet have.

Milo had to have been the happiest child in the mall. His favorite color is purple, and guess what we found?! He hasn't stopped smiling, and talking about his "new shoes, purple shoes".

Milo hasn't taken the shoes off yet today. He took a nap with them on, and went to bed with them on (I slipped them off when he fell asleep)

Here is Milo running around the kitchen (because his new shoes made him run fast!)proud as can be of his purple shoes.

Milo and his latest tricks

Some of Milo's favorites: Playing an ABC game on the computer, the color purple, smiley faces, and trucks. It's hard to video him anymore, he loves to see himself in the camera... so I turn the screen so that he can watch while I film him. What a ham! Here is a bit of video capturing some of his recent favorites.

Foot Five

One of Milo's latest.... foot fives, kind of like a high five, but with his foot. God love Simone, she is the most patient, gentle, loving dog.

More Ketchup

The little man has discovered the wonders of ketchup. He asks for "more ketchup" with everything.

Captain Milo

Here are a couple of pics from Milo's first boating adventure. He loved driving the boat with Grandpa J.R.

You put your right arm in...

Here is my toot toot in his tutu doing his version of the Hokey Pokey.

His tutu is a multi-purpose scrap of fabric from Hannah's canopy. It can be the carpet for magic carpet rides round and round the house, it can become a ghost costume, it can become a big obstacle for his cars, you name it.

Milo loves to do the Hokey Pokey, head shoulders knees and toes, and is working on the chicken dance.

The word of the day is EYEBROW. Here is Milo expanding his vocabulary :)

Pizza and games

Here are a few pics from our trip to The Incredible Pizza Co. in Pasadena. We met up with Christel, Jim, and Elizabeth for lunch and fun. No tokens here... they use a game card instead. Milo "uses" the credit card often, like paying at the grocery store (giving the cashier the Kroger card). So, he was thrilled to get his hands on the game card and do his best at swiping it through the machines.

4th of July

Party, party, party! Party boy Milo wore his patriotic t-shirt to celebrate the 4th. He watched the neighborhood parade go by in his sweet ride, shaking his noise makers that he made at the library the day before. The parade ended at the park where the new playground equipment was unveiled. It was fun, but HOT. A couple of BBQ's over the weekend, and one exhausted little man. He slept right through all of the noise of the fireworks.

Gymnastics

Milo was able to show off for Daddy at gymnastics today. David was off for the holiday, and finally able to make it to class with us. Milo was a bit preoccupied with having Daddy there, he didn't find the need to participate in any of the group activities.

Animals

Lots of firsts for this summer. First time to feed the fish and turtles with Brant, and the first time at a petting zoo. Good times, and free at that! You've got to love neighborhood parks and the local library.

Milo completes a puzzle for 3-5 yr olds

This one is for the Grandparents. It'll put a smile on your face, and give you some bragging rites. Your Grandson is a whiz at puzzles. The puzzles in the video are vintage, they were mine as a kid. I guess you could call them antiques!

If you listen to the commentary, you'll hear that Simone is in the bathroom. This is so she can eat behind closed doors, without having to share her Iams mini-chunks with Milo. Regardless of this arrangement, Milo tends to find a way to eat dog food daily.

Mmmmm, chocolate

No doubt about it, he is MINE. A chocolate feen, even at 20 months.

Milo loves shoes, and was happy to go shoe shopping today. This is the result of our hunt for new tennis shoes.

Milo meets his cousin Gwen

This past weekend Milo and I went to Denver to meet his cousin Gwen. She's exactly 16 months younger than Milo. He wasn't too keen about me holding her, but he loved it when they were on the same level. He tried his best to play with Gwen. He kept calling her "Mant", he calls all of his friends "Mant" which is Milo speak for Brant.

Here is a video of Milo showing Gwen his kitty.

Milo's new ride

Milo's new smart car, gets 4,000 miles per gallon! My latest find at the Goodwill, for a whopping $5.99. The boy is an adrenaline junkie, flying down the slope of the driveway over and over and over again.

Wild Child

The latest is running and jumping on the chase lounge. Not the safest of activities, but with a little furniture rearranging and the crib mattress for a landing mat it's pretty harmless. Milo seems to be picking up some tricks from his gymnastics class.

Lots of video to catch up on

A bunch of goodies for viewing. I don't remember when I last uploaded the camera, so lots of footage. The first video is of Milo and his weasel, a Christmas present from Grandpa JR and Grandmother Carol. He loves this crazy thing.

Next video, a collection of stuff that made me smile.

Last video... the beginning and end of today. The days around here are filled from morning to night with adventure.

Easter 09'

Here are the second round of photos from our trip. These include Easter.

Milo loved all of the dogs he met, but was really intrigued with Laney and Hannah's cat Sagwa. You won't find a picture of Sagwa, because he ran from Milo. Milo was pretty crafty in trying to lure Sagwa out of hiding.

The self-inflating whoopee cushion

This has to be the best invention since sliced bread, the self-inflating whoopee cushion. It has provided us, I mean Milo with uninterrupted entertainment! It's a gas :)

18 months

Milo had his 18 month check up today. I couldn't tell you much about it, other than Milo seems to have the "white coat" syndrome. He's not fond of going to the doctor anymore. It was similar to the trip to Sears, but 100 times worse. Crying and clinging. He seems to be right on track with everything, including separation anxiety. His height and weight most likely aren't all that accurate, but here is the rough estimates:

Height 32 ish inches
Weight 23 ish pounds

not a day for photos

Milo wasn't having any part of his photo session at Sears today. We pulled out all of the tricks, even the big red car. No such luck. Milo clung to Mama for dear life. So, here are a couple of photos taken at home.

4 photos

Our little man will be 18 months old next week. Time to head over to Sears for some more photos! So, I thought for this round of pics, and Easter I'd doll him up a bit. I dusted off the sewing machine and made this little outfit for Milo. He almost looks angelic in it. That makes me laugh! I figure that I won't be able to get away with dressing him like this for much longer, might as well seize the opportunity.

The last photo is absolutely precious. Milo with Simone, waiting for "the man" (the garbage man).

Our 5th Anniversary

Tonight we celebrated with take out. Removed from the plastic cartons, and put on a plate...it almost looks like I cooked it! I did make the brownie hot fudge sundaes :)

A day at the park

Today Milo and I spent the early afternoon at Hermann park. http://www.hermannpark.org/ Couldn't have asked for a better day. The weather was absolutely beautiful, with temps in the 70's climbing to 80 before we left.

Milo's newest girlfriend, Claire, has a sweet on the 7th floor at Memorial Hermann's childrens hospital. Claire came a bit early, at 33 weeks on Feb. 23rd. (The hospital is across the street from the park... that is how we ended up there today) We dropped Patti, Claire's Mommy, off at the hospital for a visit.

We will have to come back with Claire & her big brother John Michael when she's big enough to enjoy it!

My $7.99 Goodwill find

No, it's not the cute little boy in the picture... keep scrolling
The food, before the sticker removal and bleach bath
The kitchen before the sticker removal and bleach bath
Ready for play!

What a deal, what a deal! All for $7.99... from what I could find on-line, it looks like it retails for $68.88. There are newer and "cooler" kitchens out there, but for $7.99 this one rocks! It even makes noise, imagine that. Turn the knob for the faucet, and you hear running water. The knobs for the stove have a sizzling noise, boiling water noise, and some kind of banging pots and pans noise. Milo has yet to give his approval, he's still napping. Valentine's weekend

A little bit of Valentine's fun. Friday night Milo and I made Daddy a homemade Valentine pizza for dinner. This was Milo's first culinary experience, I believe he liked it!

Saturday we all headed to the park. Milo enjoyed some playground time, kite flying, a picnic, and a wagon wide through the park. A good time for all.
